First look: Three Sisters

By Eleni CashellPublished 29 May 2019

We do love a West End transfer, so we’re first excited to bring you a first look at the upcoming production of Chekhov’s Three Sisters.

The show is a Maly Drama Theatre of St. Petersburg’s production, and it had an incredibly successful run at the Theatre Royal Haymarket last year. It’s now returning for ten shows only at the Vaudeville Theatre from 19- 29 June.

The cast includes Alexander Bikovsky (Andrei), Ekaterina Kleopina / Nadezhda Nekrasova (Natasha),  Irina Tychinina  (Olga), Ekaterina Tarasova (Irina),  and Ksenia Rappoport / Elizaveta Boyarskaya (Masha).

Three Sisters tells the story of the Prozorov sisters, as they contend with their disillusioned lives in provincial Russia. Directed by Lev Dodin, the play provides rich insight into Chekhov’s thoughts on passion, resignation, longing, and love.
