In our profile series, Tell Us In Ten, we ask cast members and creatives of top London shows to tell us all about themselves in just 10 questions. From how they got their start in the industry to their favourite shows, we want to know everything.
This time, the spotlight is on Bradley Gibson who is about to make his West End debut in Disney’s Hercules – he’ll be stepping into the title role from 29 June.
1) My route into theatre was…
Singing in church, taking dance classes, and performing in community theatre from around the age of six. Theatre became a place where I could fully express my creativity while also finding a community of people who loved the same things I did.
2) My West End idol is…
Imelda Staunton. She’s simply one of the greats. Every time I watch her perform, I find myself thinking, “How is she doing that?!” She completely transforms into every role, while still maintaining a sparkle that is uniquely hers.

3) My colleagues would describe me as…
Hardworking and focused, but always up for a laugh and ready to have fun.
4) My favourite show (that isn’t one I star in/work on) is…
Hadestown. I love how inventive and emotionally rich it is, and the score is just incredible.
5) The career moment I’m most proud of is…
Performing in the 30th Anniversary Concert of The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl was a huge honor. The concert featured performers from both the original animated film and the stage productions. The Lion King was the first film and first stage show I ever saw, so I never could have imagined becoming part of its legacy in any capacity. It was a truly full-circle moment for me.
6) The hardest part about my job/role is…
Doing eight shows a week is no small feat. Every role and every production requires a different kind of rest and recovery, so learning how to properly care for yourself — physically, mentally, and vocally — is such an important part of being a performer.
7) If I wasn’t an actor, I would be…
I think I’d work in the fashion industry in some capacity. I’ve always loved fashion and personal style, and I see fashion as one of the most exciting forms of visual art.
8) Something people don’t know about me is…
I grew up riding horses. I stopped in high school so I could focus more on acting and music training, but I’ve always kept a real love for it.
9) The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is…
Never stop learning, stay curious, and trust your timing. If you truly believe something is your purpose, don’t give up on it.
10) The one thing I wish I could tell my younger self is…
Trust that there’s a bigger plan unfolding for you than anything you could imagine for yourself. Trust your instincts, and know that you are worthy of love and respect exactly as you are.
