Established in 1976, the Olivier Awards celebrate the world-class status of London theatre, and are Britain’s most prestigious stage honours.
The awards were previously known as the Society of West End Theatre Awards (or SWET awards!), before being renamed in 1984 after Laurence Olivier, in recognition of his contribution to British theatre both as an actor and a director.
The Olivier Awards 2026 will take place on Sunday 12 April at the Royal Albert Hall, celebrating their 50th anniversary.
More details will be released soon – including how to book tickets and be in the room where it happens!
For those in the UK, you can watch highlights from the 2025 ceremony on ITVX, and listen to the highlights programme on Magic Radio.
You can also stream last year’s full ceremony, as well as performances and speeches from the last decade, on the Official London Theatre YouTube channel.
