Each year the Olivier Awards takes a moment during the ceremony to remember those members of the London theatre community who have sadly passed away in the previous year. Following the cancellation, due to the pandemic, of the ceremony in April, the winners of the Olivier Awards 2020 with Mastercard will be announced on Sunday 25 October in a special programme hosted by Jason Manford and broadcast on ITV and Magic Radio. Click here for more information.
This year, in light of the current global situation we will be updating this page to also include those we have lost between 6 April to 1 October. Please bear with us whilst we make changes.
Only a certain number of individuals can be included in the film shown on the night of the ceremony due to time constraints in the broadcast, but all names notified to us are included in this “In Memoriam” section on the website. The cut-off date for inclusion is 10 days before the ceremony.
In general, the Olivier Awards will use the following as guiding criteria:
The person must have done a significant body of work in SOLT theatres.
Being a past Olivier winner will automatically lead to inclusion in the televised section.
If you would like a colleague or family member featured on this webpage, please get in touch ceooffice@soltukt.co.uk.
