Kids Week is back again for another year! For more than 20 years, the Society Of London Theatre – who run Theatre Tokens – has run a summer promotion, offering free theatre tickets for kids. It used to just be one week long (hence the name!) but has grown in popularity and now runs for a whole month!
For selected performances across the whole of August, a child 17 and under goes free when accompanied by an adult paying full price, plus an additional two children can attend for half price.
And because it’s all through Official London Theatre, you can use your Theatre Tokens for any kids week purchase – in part or in full.
For little ones, there are loads of interactive, fun and even educational shows made specially for kids; stories you’ll recognise like The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Tiger Who Came To Tea and ones that might be new like The Paper Dolls and The Pirate, The Princess & The Platypus. The perfect way to introduce children to the theatre, they’re often full of songs, singalongs, puppetry and more!
But this offer isn’t just for little kids, anyone 17 and under counts as a child! So why not grab your nieces, nephews, siblings, god-childs, grandkids, cousins, or – if you’re brave – your kids and their friends and take them to something they’ve always wanted to see. From classic musicals like Les Misérables, My Fair Lady and Anything Goes, to poppy hits for teens like & Juliet, Dear Evan Hansen and Heathers The Musical, there are loads of options that everyone can enjoy.
You can even sneak in some learning; with Horrible Histories – Terrible Tudors, Blippi The Musical or new WW2 play Tom, Dick & Harry, kids can learn more about science or history all while being gripped or entertained by the unique magic of live performance.
This year, we’ll be organising a small number of activities. As there is limited capacity, spaces will first be offered to those who are new to Kids Week. Also look out for ‘Kids Week Curtain Calls’ – opportunities for ALL Kids Week bookers of that performance to engage with the show you have just watched after the performance.
With more than 45 shows to choose from, this is just a snapshot of what’s on offer with Kids Week this year. So get your Theatre Tokens at the ready and see some great theatre for less this summer.
